Every family has a few with an evil eye. 

Three aunts bring normal bad luck (job loss, divorce, etc.). Black magic is used to #reflect this.

Not with Kunjappan: 

"Oil's lovely" (vessel crack'd); "he works well" (he's paralyzed); "she's great" (she jumped into well).

I took my wife to the village festival.

"Stunning!" Kunjappan told her, without malice, without #reflection. That's the way to cast an evil eye.

When she died that night, the police put the cause as 'Evil Omen'. They ignored her broken neck, the scratches on my face.
